I tell students it’s the fermentation, and the odor and sourness, that repels people, not the heat.
Korean food is functional; e.g., it’s good for your liver. But fusion snobbery goes way overboard.

Actually Tablo is a 교포. His nationality is Canadian, and he has gotten a master’s degree on English literature from Stanford. He is now in a hiphop group called Epick High, and the group is pretty famous among Koreans.
The guy with glasses on the Infinite Challenge is 유재석, and the guy whith a pizza chain is 박명수.
Tablo has nothing to do with the show. The reason why his brother’s comment got so much attention is because Tablo is a famous hiphop artist.
The guy probably commented because the place they used to live in their earlier stages of life had a strong prejudice against Koreans. Tablo had said that he was often bullied because of his heritage.
In my humble opinion, as a podcast that has 200 something downloads per a show, you should be fact checking before making comments. I often think that it’s kind of ironic when the podcast often provides with incorrect information and complain about fact checking of other media. I understand that in this case, it was a minor mistake, but as a litener, and as a fan of this podcast, it kind of annoys me.

Thank you for the information. We do perform a good bit of fact checking, but some stories slip through. Thankfully, our audience puts us straight.

jeijie, there’s a difference between one guy working an unpaid podcast and a major media organization. A small podcast, no one is going to back social policy upon. Major media highly influences social policy. It’s apples ‘n’ oranges.

And here I was thinking that calling the media out for being incorrect while we ourselves were incorrect was like all hipster cool ironic on it.
Oh well back to the drawing board.

I have fun listening to you guys. I ran into a Hagwan teacher on a bus one time in Korea who sounds just like you guys. He complained about many issues in the Hagwans and in Korean culture to my wife and I. Anyway, thanks you guys have helped me understand why my Korean wife is always running into people or getting right in the way of others without noticing.

Loved the wish list of stuff to have at a Korean wedding. I think that is what I want to have for mine … but what exactly happens during a Korean donkey show?
