The tooth paste is now called Darlie…When I lived in Hong Kong about 20yrs ago the tooth paste was called Darkie and had the picture of the black man with white teeth.

I love the ability to drink beer on any transport in Korea…Sucks in Canada cause you can't drink anywhere.

Not all black cabs are the luxury ones…I had a friend who refused to take any black cabs because she thought they were all luxury…They must say Mo Bom (Rough Korean Translation). There are some black cabs which say Gaein (Rough Korean Translation).

Cool! I don’t know which season they have of Let’s Learn Korean right now, nor where to download episodes. I doubt it’d be a popular bit torrent. The only thing I know is that Stephen Revere doesn’t host it anymore.

갑사합니다! Thanks for answering to my comment! I learned a lot, and I’ll keep studying. I’ve been watching some old episodes of that Let’s Learn Korean with Lisa Kelly and Stephen Revere and they’ve been really useful. I think what’s up on Arirang to watch now is the third season or so? Do you know of a place where you can download episodes from Let’s Learn Korean?

“Significant Other” keeps drilling me on that one, but I forget it each time. I doubt there will be a situation where I’ll actually say that phrase, so I haven’t worked on memorizing it–just listening to the phonetic gist of it. Who knows… the way the Korean economy may be going, I may end up working the cash register at E-Mart.

I listened to more after I made my first comment, but didn’t get to the end yet, so I don’t know if you covered it. The thing they ask you about at the register is “현금영수증.” I have no idea what that is. Cash + receipt, so I said “yes” one time and, like you, was prompted for a number. Funnily enough since then I’ve always said “필요없어요.”
