The Future is LIVE?
News January 3rd, 2009The live show was a success, but we’re still deciding whether or not to incorporate it as a weekly feature. The main kink is that I need to figure out how to get rid of the echo in my headset. It’s difficult to speak normally with that going on. This next show won’t be live, if you’re wondering.
Nonetheless, would you like to make live shows a regular feature? Do you enjoy hanging out in a chat room with other listeners, interacting with the hosts and panelist on the show? For those of you who were there for the New Year’s Eve show, did everything go smoothly? What would you change?

I’m a long time listener and have listened to the first hour of the live podcast and am very impressed with it. Would I listen to it on a Wednesday night? Sure, but as with most hagwon teachers we only really become ‘free’ around 10pm, so if it was on say around that time, I’d definitely listen most of the time.
I think the chat room is an excellent idea. I’d also love to see another competition again (the lamer the prize, the better!).
Seriously, well done. It’s an excellent show.

Depends on the technical issues involved.

Okay, great. I’ll at least plan a live show for February 4th at 10 p.m. Will try to fix that one annoying issue. And we’ll see from there.
David, I understand the time. It is sometimes a factor in the panelists we have on the show. We do tend to run a long, long time, though.

I finish a little late as well… Luckily, though, the podcast goes on for hours (sometimes three??!). There’s more than enough time for me to get home, log-on, and catch at least half of it.

Of course, if time permits I will be around for live shows. But you should say my name less next time. I feel kind of like an attention whore when listening to the NYE one.
