I'm man enough to call my girlfriend anything I feel like and not care what anyone thinks.

Do I really look womanly?

Joe. Do you really call your girlfriend "jagii" and not just privately but on podcast for all to hear? That is just so... girly. But I suppose that goes well your reportedly womanly figure. :)

nope, Jen Young hosts with Joe, Jen Lee is another blogger entirely, and as for me
"Jennifer" is my surname, and "Evil" is my Christian name. Hope that clears things up.

oh, my last name sure ain't Korean!
But I hope at least having me appear on the same podcast with the other Jen has forever demolished the rumor that we are one and the same . . .although I suppose the one that I'm her doppelganger will live on.

You know what I've always wondered about? The two Jennifers live in Korea and have "Korean" last names, but aren't Korean. Really makes you think.

Oh that smell, that evil smell.....

Joe I'm surprised you haven't smelt that smell before in Korea. I first came to Korea in 2000 and one of the first things I was told was how anti-drug Korea is. But in my first week in Korea I was walking to work and smelled that sweet smell on the street. My first thought was, "Wow, Korea is cool!" However, what we have smelled might not be what we think it is.

A traditional Korean remedy for driving mosquitoes out of a residence is to burn ginko leaves. It produces an odor that is very very similar to marijuana. Now when I smell that distinct odor in Korea my first thought is not that someone is smoking up but that someone is trying to drive the gnats and bugs out of their house.

Here's an interesting urban legend that I have heard but have never had confirmed. Korean witch doctors/shamans are legally allowed to smoke marijuana. If this is true, then maybe that might be what we are smelling. Anyone else out there heard of this?
